Kowhaiwhai Family Portraits

We used our ideas from our kowhaiwhai shapes to sketch Family Portraits.  We discussed shapes for family members and used chalk on sugar paper for our outlines.

We selected colours to represent out family members.  We experimented with white to lighten and brighten one side of our shapes.  We used black to darken the other side of our shapes.  We blended carefully so lines of colour are evident.  Pastels are very fun to use, very messy and very effective.  We will finish our artwork next week.
