Our butterflies

Yesterday in room 6 we were lucky enough to witness a butterfly drop out of his chrysalis slowly.  The butterfly was weak and wet.It was pumping blood through it's viens. We thought we would set the butterfly free the next day but later on the butterfly was just desperate to get out side.  So we opened the door wide and let the butterfly fly out.
I hope the butterfly has a long happy life.

  1. Me too! I hope that the butterflies have a good life. Well done for raising them.

  2. we had butterflys once in year 4 and reception ,but after a while we had to let them go.

  3. Amazing! How long does it take for butterflies to go into a chrysalis?

  4. Wow! It must of been a big surprise when you saw the butterflys for the first time. What learning did you do about them or were the just to look at?

  5. see it come out of its chrysalis it was amazing don't you think?

  6. Hi there Room 6

It sounds like you all had an amazing experience. I think it would be really interesting to watch. Did you learn anything about butterflies and chrysalises? You took some excellent photos of the butterflies and I think they are really beautiful. It’s sad that butterflies only live for 3 day’s but otherwise they are great creatures.

    Yours sincerely
