Bridget's Christmas Globe

I have this mysterious, magical Christmas globe. In my Christmas Globe
there is lots of amazing things happen. I see elves wrapping awesome
presents. Santa Claus is trying to get unstuck from the chimney in my
mystical Christmas Globe. I can see Rudolph and all the other Reindeer
pulling the sleigh. There are lots of colourful presents. Children have
smiles on their faces. There is Mistletoe on most doors, it looks so
lovely. I love my Christmas Globe.

Bridget's Swimming

At swimming today I was able to do somethings that I strugle with. I was
able to do 1,2,3 breathe without standing up. I'm also getting better at
breathing underwater for longer and having more confidence swimming. I
really hope that soon I can go to the end of the pool. I'm enjoying
swimming alot more now.

Bridget's Limerick

There once was a girl named Bridget
She was always thought to be fidget
She was quite small

So Bridget is now thought to be a midget

3 Goals for Swimming

My goal is to get more confident in a deep pool.

My goal is to be able to do Freestyle and lean on to my arm to breathe
without standing up.

My goal is to be able to swim to the end of the pool and back.

Bridget's Improvement in Swimming

My Improvement in Swimming

I have improved from my first lesson for swimming because I have more
confidence but I still don't want to go to the end of the pool. I am
getting better at Swimming Freestyle and leaning on my arm to breathe but
haven't quite got it right at the moment. I was told by my swimming
instructor that I have improved from my first one lots. I have enjoyed
swimming more the second time more because I am now able to improve from
the day before.

Bridget's Midas

I'm King Midas and I love gold and money. I would just love if I could
make a wish.  it would be that everything I touch turns to gold. I'm so
lucky that I can make a wish that everything I touch turns to gold. I just need
to go and ask Olympus as nicely as possible. I would like to be able to
touch anything and it will turn to gold I told king Olympus. He said your
wish is granted. I'm now testing my power on all the trees.  It works I scream
out in laughter. I love my Power. I have had so much fun turning
everything to gold. I have just one teensy problem. I will not be able to
give my family hugs no more. I will not be able to eat my tea tonight or
any other time. I feel so bad.  Why did I decide to do this.  It was such a
bad choice. I wish I could undo my wish.

Bridget's swimming story

On the 26th of November we had session one for swimming lessons. I enjoyed
swimming because we got to do lots of fun things like the game at the end.
Swimming was really hard for me because I don't have lots of confidence in
a deep pool. It is also hard because I am not that tall so I struggle to
stand in deep water. Room 5, 6 and 7 all had swimming. Room 7 was first
then room 6 then 5. In my group we did freestyle first. I didn't do
so well in that because we had to lean onto our side to breathe and I
have not been taught to do that in deep water. Next we got to do
backstroke. I did a lot better in that because I don't have to breathe
under water. I was really glad that we did not have to dive off the
platform at the end of the pool. We all got a number to know our groups. I
got number 3. I enjoyed swimming.

The Clock Tower

Once upon a time there was a little girl who lived and ran the clock
tower. She danced so beautifully in the clock tower with her ballet. She
was so sad that she had to live in the clock tower and make it go. The
little girl just loved the little village as it was so pretty all the
balloons, flowers, people and happiness. The little girl decided it was
time to explore this wonderful world as it looked so nice. So the little
girl went down to the bottom of the clock tower and opened the doors then
walked out and saw nothing at all everything was black, grey and white
nothing was as colorful as it looked from inside the clock house. No one
was there, no one was happy nothing looked nice. She decided to go to the
top of the clock tower once again. She was spinning the clock tower once
more and everyone was happy once more there was lots of people with
laughter. Poor little girl nothing to do.

Bridget's 100 wc last piece of chocolate

I came home and mum had food everywhere. She brought this for Lent because
were giving up lollies. I can't give up lollies. I'm going to give it up.
At teatime we sat around the table then Mum put pancakes in front of us
and said dig in. We went to grab our pancakes but when I grabbed mine
their were no pancakes left because my older brother took six. When we
finished we did the dishes then mum put lollies and chocolate on the table
and turned the movie on. I grabbed mine but their was only one piece of
chocolate.

Bridget's How Wet?

How Wet?

Today room 6 went for a walk down the main street to look at what was over
the top with water. Down the main street we saw dehumidifiers in lots of
shops because of the flood of water. What happened was in the gutter there
were all these leaves and they stopped the water from getting away so
the water went over and caused floods in shops. On Sunday when I went to
church we saw the mess on the streets and in the shops. I enjoyed the walk
because I got to see up close what happened. In one shop their was a
terrible smell because of the wet wool. The wool got wet and it didn't smell nice
at all but we were all used to it because when we made the bottle bivy all
the rotten milk stunk. So how wet is too wet? Well this weekend sure was
wet!

Bridget's PLN PLE

For my PLE and my PLN I made a cube.  On my cube I put pictures to do with
what I used to help me learn. I enjoyed making this poster and sharing
about it.

Bridget's 100wc

Grandparents are important because they are part of our family and they
are great people. I remember doing lots with my Grandparents because every
time is an awesome one. Favourite memories with my Grandparents would have
to be staying with them and having a stay there on my own because we get
spoiled and we get to stay up later with them. It is sad when Grandparents
go on trips away or pass away because you really miss them. Both of those
two things happen to me lots like my Gran and Grandy always go away and my
Grandma and Grandad have both died.

Athletics

On the 8th of November all the schools that go up to Yr8 had Athletics. We
had lots of different activities like Long Jump, High Jump, Sprints-100m,
75m, Shot Put and Discus. I thought I did the best in the 100m Sprint
because I got 1st in the first race then I got 3rd in the second race but
then in the last race just before it my little sister Johanna stepped on
my ankle so in the last race I came 6th/last. I thought that I did the
worst in High Jump because I could only Jump two of the heights because
the third one was taller then me. I really enjoyed the Athletics.

Meeting Valerie Adams Bridget

Meeting Valerie Adams
On Wednesday the 7th of November we walked down to the Warehouse to see
Valerie Adams. We brought her Magazine and a book we made for her with us.
We also brought her book at the Warehouse. We got a picture all together.
Some people got to hold her gold medal. Some people also got to get a
picture by themselves with her.  No one thought she was as tall as she was
untillthey actually met her. We had lots of fun meeting the gold medal
champion. Valerie really liked the book we made for her about the Olympics
and how Valerie won the shot put event at the Olympics. I really enjoyed
meeting Valerie Adams it was amazing.

The amazing school fair

On the 28 of October St Mary's had their school fair. There were lots of different activities. My favorite activities were Soak a senior, Pippity Pop and the Tombola.

I watched Mrs Matheson and Mrs Baines do soak a senior. I had lots of fun. For lunch I had hot chips and a spider. That was yum. We got our nails done very pretty.

We had a lovely day at the fair!

School Move

Our school is moving to the church ground because the grounds our school is on are being sold to Countdown. We have already had Room 4 and Room 5 shifted over to the site. The two classes were shifted on the last Friday in the holidays. Room 6 and Room 7 are the two easiest classes to move because they were made not long ago, only about two to three years ago. Our library and our spare class room have been lent to Room 4 and Room 5. I can’t wait till next year when we are in our new school.

Bridget's 100 WC

I was camping in my tent when the temperature dropped suddenly and I was
so cold. I felt like an iceblock in a -5oc freezer. I decided to put on my
gumboots, coat, woolly hat and scarf . I walked outside and fell right
into my older brothers trap. I'm covered in snow and really want to have a
30oc shower. I've found my way out and now going straight to the shower.
I'm outside the bathroom and my sister is still in the shower and won't un
lock the door. Mum said I should go and have a snowball fight. Snowball
fights are fun.

Animal Antics

On Tuesday we had our matinee performance for the production. On Wednesday and Thursday we had the night performances. The classes all had to be different animals. Room 1 were Elephants, Room 2 were Wolves, Room 3 were Dogs, Room 4 were African Animals, Room 5 were Monkeys, We were Native New Zealand Birds and Room 7 were the main actors and the Wild things. In each of our songs we had to do a background dance while the others in each group did their own dance. We all had a lot of fun and we can’t wait till next year!
