The amazing race

The amazing race
Four teams of two will be competing for one million dollars. Every night one team maybe eliminated. They have to do events. Everyone has started racing. They have to go fly to Japan. It is 3am in the morning and they have all landed and now they will have to run to the castle and find a clue. Right, under 20 clues but there is one thousand seats.  The first team has come out and everyone else is still in there. Now every team is out and have got their clue.  It is now a road block and only one of them can do it. They have to ski down a course going in and out of the flags. They all have their clues. On this event they both have to throw an axe and hit the target ten times. They all took a while but they have got the next clue and have to go to the oldest ever Japanese building. Our first team is here but they also get a pass to go on a holiday and will also get to start earlier than the others in the final. Our second and third team arrive and are safe. Our last team is here and they have been eliminated. In this final they will have to do only three events but will it be their toughest. Our first team departs at eight thirty. They will have to go to the Japan international airport. They have all departed and are on the plane. They all find their clue in South Africa and now read it. They have to go through the biggest maze. Later they all come out of the maze. They will now have to ride a mechanical bull for 2 full minutes. They are on their last event. In this event they both will have to eat a medium sized spider. One team can not so it and the other teams have done it and are now heading to their pit stop on the top of a palace.  The other team's finished. Finally the first team arrives and win 1 million dollars.  But wait he gives them their next clue because they still have one more challenge. Our second and third team arrive.  They are so sad but he tells them that they still have another clue. Now this is a road block.  One person will hop onto a boat and will have to use a map and a compass.  They have all finished and surprisingly our first team arrives and that was the one that came to the pit stop earlier.  They were so happy. Our second team arrives.  They are so sad but then he said even though you came second I will give you 2000 dollars. They leave the race with smiles and money.  Our third team arrives they are so sad.  He asks them if you would like 1000 dollars for coming third.  So they also leave with smiles and money. Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was a little girl. I was dancing and dancing. I stopped and went outside but there wasn't any colour, it was dull. I went inside sad. I started dancing and it was colour again. Now I realise that if I don't dance everything will go blank. A balloon comes in the window in colour. Now I think I won't have to dance again. And I don't. Now I am sure that I don't have to dance again. So now I go outside and start dancing with joy because I got to see colour properly

Today we shared our photos.I was the first one to share my poster. I am proud of myself. I think everyone did a good poster. I had fun creating the poster and sharing the poster.  Next week we are sharing it again and we get to add stuff on. I can't wait until we do it again.

100wc

My grandparents are important because they will look after us and care for
us. We have dinner on special occasions. They tell us about the past. We can
watch family movies together. They also spoil us with any food. They take
us to the park or any other places. They will help us if something goes
wrong at school. Grandparents will love us for life. They tell us about
their parents and our Mum and Dad. My favourite thing is when we play
family board games with them. They can teach us why it wasn't good back in
their days. They are the best grandparents.

Mason in Christchurch

I have bee n having a lot of fun in Christchurch. We traveled up on Tuesday after we found out that athletics was postponed which was a shame because I wanted to win all of the sprint races! Mum had an exam on Wednesday afternoon and we played cricket outside at Grandma's. Grandma and Granddad's house is going to be fixed after the earthquakes so I have added some photos. We went for a drive through central Christchurch today and it looks really bad. It is warm here today so we are going for a swim in Grandma's pool!

Looking behind me I saw people running to try catch up to me. I was running so hard with 1000m to go. I’m right beside another person with two laps to go. I’m winning by 10 milliseconds. Now we start sprinting. Now he’s winning by heaps so I run even faster and now we’ve 100m to go and he crosses the line first with a world record time. After the race the drug tests come out. The winner was on drugs, that little cheat, so I won. I set an Olympic record. I stand proud on the podium listening to my New Zealand national anthem.

Bell Bird

I am flying around and its morning. I land into someone’s house and I see a cat so I try flying away but he grabs my tail. So I thought I would die but then I flap my wings as hard as I can and the cat lets go but my tail is sore.  I have to fly away before it gets me again and after all that I need a drink. I can’t find water. It must be my lucky day because now it starts raining. So I get a drink and then eat food out of a rubbish bin. Now there’s nothing to do.  I fly back to my nest and sleep. It is evening and very hot outside so I fly around. I saw that house that I saw this morning. I go to their backyard and I can see a bird’s nest up in the tree. Seems no one was in there. I have a look and then there was a bird flying to it so I fly into there cat flap door and I fly around with the cat chasing after me again.  I saw a human with a net trying to catch me. I go out their window and I fly back to my nest for a big sleep. Before that I go get a drink and eat tea and now go back to my nest for a big sleep. I didn’t think it was morning but it was and I go see these other birds flying around.  I go catch up to them and they didn’t talk. I went to my nest and stayed there.

OUR VISITORS

Today we had Japan exchange students from Waachi. First we sang a song called haere mai for our welcome. Then we got a group and we had to tell them our names then we got to choose something out of their bag. I got a pencil and a lid. We showed them our bottle bivy. Then we made origami. We were doing origami until the fire alarm went off. We had to stay outside and on our last song one of the students went up and danced. Then after morning tea we kept on doing our origami then we finished and it made a ball sort of shape. Then after they had to go on a farm visit.

Alexandra - frozen holiday

On July the 3rd Mum, Dad and I went to Alexandra. We drove there in a rental car because Dad was working. When we got to Alexandra it was -2 degrees with fog and it was really freezing. I went for a swim with Jacob and Ben Sidon and the pool was warm. There was an inflatable dinosaur to play on which was cool. We went to Jacob's house after and we had a Nerf war. That night it was -10 and the next morning Mum and I went for a walk and we saw all the frost everywhere. It was really icy and we took some pictures. We went shopping and went out for tea. It was really cold again on Thursday and when we went for a walk I couldn't feel my fingers and it looked like it was snowing but it was just the freezing fog.

Transit of Venus

Today is the transit of Venus and it won't happen again  for about105 years. I went out before with a safe solar viewer. Venus isn’t big but it looks like a black dot. When I went out it was on the bottom right. If we didn’t use the safe solar viewers we would get blind. We're making the most of it because the next time it happens is in 2117, so we can’t see it again.  I went out and now the sun has moved and Venus has moved a little bit. We have looked at it four times and it hasn’t moved that much. It will be at the top at quarter to five and when it finishes it will be back into space where it lives.

My Tagxedo is in the shape of an umbrella because it was raining when we went on the sleepover.  I hope you get an idea of my feelings about the trip...

Anzac

Today we went to the R.S.A and looked at medals and photos of people that died in the war. It was interesting to learn about the world war they were in and how many people survived and how many people went to war. I enjoyed looking at their helmets. I liked looking at how big their bullets were. We met Bing and he told us some amazing stories about World War 1 and World War 2. Then I went upstairs and saw millions of medals. I got rosemary, and it reminded me of the world war. We talked to people in the war or not in the war. We went into this room and saw helmets and a field gun shell. I looked around and then came back to put on the helmet and it was quite heavy.  Then I got to hold the field gun shell and it weighed more than the helmet. We went back and then went straight back into the room again. We asked brilliant questions and some got answered. We gave him a thank you and walked back. We went to go memorial and meet Mrs. K’s friend.  He told us a story about the war too and there were hundreds of people that died. On one side of the memorial it showed who died in World War 1 or 2.

Metallica story

Metallica has springy feet that can bounce 15 feet.
Metallica has a shaped head of a rugby ball and likes rugby.
Metallica likes every sport on earth and also loves watching.
Metallica likes reading every night and sometimes in the car.
Metallica hates homework because it takes too long. 
Metallica likes cake and hates monsters.
Metallica has a tin body which is very cool.
Metallica is also doing 2 ICAS exams. They are math and computer skills.
Metallica got into the Dunedin rep team.

Dragon Adventure number ten...

My dragon is called stinky because he never cleans himself.
Stinky is red and loves sport watching and playing.
Stinky can swallow 15 bathtubs.
Stinky's favourite food is chocolate cake because he loves chocolate and likes lollies on the outside.
He likes chocolate covered strawberries because he loves the chocolate.
Stinky's dislikes are toys, mud, big monsters and his worst is sharks.
Stinky's likes are santa because he is red, easter bunny because of chocolate,
and the best one is sport.   He also likes friends and computers.

Our assembly

On Friday we had our assembly.  We did our assembly at the school hall. We did it because it’s always fun and every second week a class has to do an assembly. It was our turn.

We did a dozen of things and I got two turns talking and I showed my record for one of them. I did about our dragons on funky Friday and birthdays. I made 2 bloopers and they were not speaking loud enough and losing track of what I said. My special moments were showing records and the other stuff I did and singing with room 4. Our audience reaction was spot on and all of the parents clapped very loudly. Room 4 came up and they showed stuff like what they wanted to be when they grow up.

My avatar is called the rein-fro-tom-bat. The rein-fro-tom-bat lives in the swamp.  I visit frogs in the swamp every time I feel bored and I also eat them.  I love jumping and visiting time travelers.

I have powers that make stuff change and move people round.

Dunedin Metro Trials

1^st trial: On Sunday Sam, Josh, Mason and Thomas went to the first metro trial at the high performance centre. They were looking to see our technique for batting and bowling. We were very nervous.  All four of us bowled for 20 minutes. We batted for about 5 minutes each. Mason ran Thomas out about five times.

2^nd trial: on the next Sunday Thomas, Sam and Mason got through to the second trials. Sam hit a couple of fours. Thomas got 15 runs then Mason bowled him out. The green team batted and Mason got about 14 runs and then Thomas gave revenge to Mason and bowled him out sadly. Sam was next bowler and he got a hatrick off the same person and then about 2 balls later Sam caught a brilliant catch.

We all got in to metro and first game is against south Canterbury on 4^th of March at Logan Park.
