The Clocktower...

Room 4 and Room 6 have been writing together this week.  We used the Literacy Shed Clocktower story for motivation...  Thank you to Rob Smith for the amazing motivation for our writing.
We created artwork to symbolise our beautiful colourful world and a world that is dull and drag, except for a splash of colour...
We would love to know what you think of our artwork and our stories!

Dance all day...

There once was a girl who danced around all day to keep the clock tower going. Every time she stopped dancing the world went dull and cold and when she started to dance again the world went bright and colorful.  It was like magic. She felt so sad. She couldn’t talk to anyone around her.  There were lots of balloons flying everywhere.   A green balloon flew in the window and the girl picked it up and danced with it...

The Clock tower

Once upon a time there was a little girl. She lived in a clock tower. When she was dancing the world was colorful. When she stopped dancing the world turned gray. The little girl went outside and saw that there was no color and no people. She was very sad. Then she went back into the clock tower and started dancing again and suddenly the color came back and the girl was happy again. From then on she didn’t stop dancing.

The fantasies of ‘The Clock Tower’

Once upon a time was a little girl in a little village living in a tall clock tower.  Day and night she danced gracefully to a smooth beat.
One day she glanced out the window. Multi coloured balloons floated up in the air. She wanted to explore the big wide world. She’d never set foot outside her tower before.
She stopped dancing and skipped out the front door in excitement. As she stepped out everything appeared to be frozen. The life and colour had been sucked out of the world.
She was scared and anxious. What had caused this abrupt turn?
She walked around the village. Everything and everyone was frozen, their profiles a dull, dull grey.
She brushed her hand lightly against the balloon thinking all was lost. To her amazement the colour and movement flooded into the balloon. “Strange” She thought to herself. As soon as she took her hand off the balloon it froze again and returned to grey.
She sighed deeply and trudged back to her clock tower not trying in the slightest to hold herself upright. Like she always did when depressed she slowly revolved on the spot. As soon as she started to dance in her tower the village and world came back to life.

Clocktower

A long, long, time ago there lived a cute little girl, who lived in a clock tower.  Everything was colourful then something strange happened.  The whole world changed, and everything went black and white.  So the little girl started  dancing and everything went back to normal.  The balloons kept floating in the air, then the little girl lived happily ever after.

Clocktower

Once upon a time was a little girl in a little village. I am gracefully dancing in my chamber.  Looking out the window I see colourful balloons. I want to explore outside. I walk outside and to my amazement the world turned grey and froze. I’m feeling panicky. What has happened? I walk around the village and everything is frozen. I touch  a frozen balloon. As I touch it the colour floods back into it. Strange.

Clock tower

Once upon a time there was a little girl and every morning she watched the world going on and she was sad because she was locked up in the clock tower.  Everyone was getting on with their life so she made up her mind to take the happiness out of everyone’s life so she sucked out the colour and the land was dry. But not so far away a king with an army was on a daily walk and he got a message that there was an evil lady that was sucking the land away.  So he came with his army to fight the queen.  When he won he put colour into it again and they lived happy ever after.

The clock tower

In Petone there is a humongous clock tower, which bangs loudly on the hour. Petone is a beautiful coloured place which relies on a girl called Ginny to keep turning and spinning to keep Petone working right. Every day was the same for Ginny; she loved ballet, but longed to see the world. One day (Saturday the 24 of November) was the town fair and everyone had left Petone and gone into town. Ginny so wanted to get out of the clock tower. Ginny couldn’t resist it anymore and got out, but when she did everything froze and went dull.  Ginny raced to the clock tower and continued dancing. She only got out for about a minute but Ginny was okay she had seen the world.

Colorful

In a colorful world where the magic happened it went black and white and it froze It was in a big tower she got a fright. They saw a big clock. The clock moved and the little girl danced.

Clocktower

Once upon a time there was a girl, she loved to dance and prance around.  She was locked in a clock tower, she could not talk to anyone around her , when she was inside the world was magical and colourful and when she was outside the world went cold and dull, then she went inside and she danced around and the world started all again and she was happy that  she could look out of the window and then she danced and pranced around.  She loved to look out of the window when she danced.

The world became...

The world became the most… well dull place she’d ever seen. It all started because she wanted to grab a green balloon that she was too slow to grab BUT since she was the person to live in the clock tower she needed to keep dancing or else the world would stop and lose its colours.  She decided to take a permanently not needed break just to get another green balloon! (Weak!) But as I told you earlier the world stopped and lost its colours and all she did was tap a balloon and shout hello and back came the echo HELLO! HELLO! (Got quieter and quieter until it stopped) but then she thought about it and thought about it and thought about it… And she eventually went back in to dance again and a green balloon came in the window and the world went back to normal. She then lived happily ever after. THE E… oh yeah I forgot to tell you her name. She is called Tucker.  THE END!

Little girl

There was a little girl who lived in a clock tower.  She lived all by herself.  She went outside, there was no one there.  When she went back into the tower it went black and white.  When she went inside she danced on bolts.  There was a clock turning.

It all went dark when no-one was around and the little girl was lonely and sad. So she went out into the world and it all froze.

The clock tower

There once was a girl who lived in a clock tower. She danced to make the
world go round.  Without her the world would be black and white and no
movement. One day she stepped of the clock gears and decided to go outside
but when she got there nothing was moving and it was all black and white.
There were balloons dead still in the air. When she touched one it was
brought back and started floating again but when it was out of her reach
it stopped again. She went back to the tower sad and miserable. When she
got there she started dancing again then the world was back and colorful.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was a little girl. I was dancing and dancing. I stopped and went outside but there wasn't any colour, it was dull. I went inside sad. I started dancing and it was colour again. Now I realise that if I don't dance everything will go blank. A balloon comes in the window in colour. Now I think I won't have to dance again. And I don't. Now I am sure that I don't have to dance again. So now I go outside and start dancing with joy because I got to see colour properly

The Clock-tower

Once upon a time there was a little girl who lived in a clock-tower. She
danced around all day long without a care in the world. One day she was
looking out her window watching the balloons and colors float around her
but what she hadn't realized is that she had stopped dancing.  Suddenly the
sky turned black. She ran down the stairs and went outside to see that all
of the beautiful colors had changed into black and white. Then she ran
inside and started dancing again and to her surprise the color came back
and the clock-tower started working again . She was so happy that she
never stopped dancing again and the color was never lost since that day.

Lorie's clock tower

Lorie's clock tower.
Once upon a time there was a girl she worked in a tower made of old rusty brick. One day she wanted to go outside the tower to have a look at the beautiful nature but as soon as she stopped working the clock and went outside the world froze and turned black and white. As soon as she went back up to the tower and started working it again the whole world unfroze and went back to colour. The girl was so sad because she found out when she does her ballet dance in the clock tower the whole world starts up but if she stops her ballet dance the whole world freezes and turns black and white. I feel sorry for her.
